Stormwater Loading
Rate Perameters for
Central and South Florida

Abstract

This report presents the results of an extensive literature search and analysis of pollutant concentrations and loading rates for selected parameters and land use types within Central and South Florida. This study was originally conducted by Environmental Research & Design, Inc. (ERD) as partial fulfillment of Task 2, Phase I of the Tampa Bay "SWIM" Project. Pollutant concentrations and loading rates presented in this report can be used as input into loading rate models to generate estimates of existing pollutant loadings to receiving waters and to evaluate the effects of potential restoration or remedial alternatives.

Due to the significance of this information to water quality and stormwater studies in Florida, the pollutant concentrations and loading rates generated in the original study are updated periodically by ERD as an independent research effort to further understanding of stormwater characteristics in Central and South Florida. This edition is the third revision of the original report published in 1990. Revisions include: (1) the addition of loading rate information for highway/transportation land use; (2) division of the general land use category of agriculture, included in previous versions of this report, into pasture, citrus, row crops and general agriculture land uses with separate loading rates provided for each; and (3) addition of several new references which provide loading rate information for selected land use types.
